Imagine Our Life In Heaven

Our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.Philippians3:20-21 NIV.

“Sing the wondrous love of Jesus,

sing his mercy and his grace:

In the mansions bright and blessed,

he’ll prepare for us a place.

When we all get to heaven,

what a day of rejoicing that will be!”

As Christians we confidently live knowing that one day our earthly bodies will die, but our souls will live forever in a new body. Paul describes what will happen in Second Corinthians 5.1-5: “For we know that if the earthly tent (our earthly bodies) we live in is destroyed, we have a building (a new body) from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.” Jesus promises us in John 14:2 that in, “My Father’s house (heaven) there are many rooms and he has gone to prepare a place for us to live with him in.”

The apostle John describes this new house, heaven, in Revelation 21:10-27 as “that the Spirit carried him to a great and high mountain, so he could see the Holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God.  Its brilliance was like a very precious jewel, a jasper, clear as crystal.” He describes the precious stones that the city is made of, emeralds, onyx, rubies, chrysolite, topaz, turquoise and others. The new city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, because the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. Nothing impure will ever enter it, only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.”

This new city, heaven, is our permanent and eternal home on “the far side of the sky.” From the moment we took our “first breath, first smile, first step, the first day of school, first friend, this is all part of the journey we are making toward heaven. “Imagine that dying is only the beginning. That our life on earth is only a prelude to a spectacular symphony” that awaits us in heaven.

IMAGINE the endless possibilities in HEAVEN, a place...

Where we can spread our wings and ride a raindrop.

• Where all worldly limitations and shortcomings have been

    left behind.

• All sins are forgiven. We'll be living in a a state of permanent grace.

• No hate. No pain. No conflict. No regret.

• Complete and total freedom. Unbounded hope.

• The impossible becomes the possible.

• Meeting our Maker face to face and realizing that we have been made like Him.

In Heaven we are free to...

Give without fear of not having enough.

Love without fear of rejection.

Reach without fear of falling.

Explore without fear of losing your way.

Stand without fear of ridicule.

Forgive without fear of being hurt again.

Confess without fear of reprisal.

Submit without fear of appearing weak.

Imagine when we get to heaven and how we would describe it to others. “When I get where I'm going, don’t cry for me down here. But when I get where I'm going and I see my Maker's face I'll stand forever in the light of His amazing grace. I am free! I’ve been sprung from the limits of time and space and I am what I was originally intended to be. I’m here and you can’t imagine how incredible it is. Because I no longer suffer. I am not afraid of anything. I can try everything I’ve ever wanted to try.  My arms, my legs, my eyes, my brain, my ears, everything is as it was originally designed. No defects, no wear, no tear and no limits. When I run, I don’t get tired. When I fall it doesn’t hurt. I have met my maker and He is bigger, grander, more beautiful, more compassionate, more just than I could begin to describe. I assure you I am safe and content in His presence. I know you are going to miss me, and I’m glad. Be angry, cry. But don’t do it for me. Do it for you. Because I am happier and more fulfilled than I ever was on earth. I AM AT PEACE.”
