Who is Hallowed In My Life?

Jesus taught us to pray, "Hallowed be Thy Name." For our prayers to be powerful and effective, we must give God his rightful place: "No other gods before me." "Love God with all your heart, mind, body, and soul." Existentialism holds that there is no authority higher than self and our own personal preferences. We're being taught that truth is personal and relative. There is my truth and your truth, but no absolute truth. Israel's "Dark Ages" was a time during the Judges when "Every man did that which was right in his own eyes."

Listen, prayer will not change me, you, our churches, or our country, until we place the preferences of God before our own. He must be returned to His rightful place in our politics, personal ethics, in our marriages, at work, in our entertainment choices. Awe, reverence, respect, for God is personal. Faith is personal. Salvation is personal. Sometimes I see brethren become overly concerned with the faith and behavior of others; first, foremost, and forever, we should be focused on self. The question is… Is God hallowed in MY life?
