Worship In Spirit & Truth

It was Jesus who said: "A time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks...

His worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth."

(John 4.23 & 24)

False Worship

Vain Worship...

"They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men” (Matthew 15.9).

Mock Worship...

"Again and again they struck him on the head with a staff and spat on him. Falling on their knees, they paid homage to him. And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple robe and put his own clothes on him. Then they led him out to crucify him" (Mark 15.19-20).

Will Worship...

"Such regulations indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-imposed (will)worship, their false humility and their harsh treatment of the body, but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence" (Colossians 2.23).

Ignorant Worship...

"I walkedaround and looked carefully at your objects of worship; I even found an altarwith this inscription: to an unknown god.Now what you worship as something unknown I am going to proclaim toyou" (Acts 17.23).

True Worship

Preaching & The Lord’s Supper...

"On the first day of the week we came together to break bread. Paul spoke to the people and, because he intended to leave the next day, kept on talking until midnight" (Acts 20.7).

Worship in Song...

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God" (Colossians 3.16).

Worship in Prayer..

"They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer" (Acts 2.42).

"I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone--for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness... I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing" (1 Timothy 2.1-2 & 8).

Worship by Genuine Fellowship...

"They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer" (Acts 2.42).

Worship through our Giving...

"Now about the collection for God’s people... On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with his income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made" (1 Corinthians 16.1-2).
